The Notre Dame of Bethlehem Good Samaritan Society is a parish organization that helps the less fortunate members of our community. Notre Dame Good Samaritan Society delivers 100% of contributions received to the needy in our local area. We have done this work in our parish for over 27 years! Notre Dame parishioners have been incredibly supportive of the efforts of our mission to serve the needy by providing funding, non-perishable food, and countless volunteer hours.
Our activities include:
- Helping local, needy families with emergency funding for eviction, homelessness and utility shut-offs
- Providing food to those needy families, and the families that attend the Pennsylvania Avenue Interfaith Food Pantry, a nonprofit organization located at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church
- Organizing Christmas gifts for children who would otherwise not receive any
- Cooking and serving meals for the homeless guests at the Bethlehem Emergency Shelter
- We partner with the Family Promise Committee of Notre Dame. Family Promise of the Lehigh Valley provides temporary housing and support for homeless families
