Chaperones Needed for Track & Field

  • Looking for parents/guardians to assist coaches during track & field practices; chaperones will work with the coaches to keep practices flowing smoothly and will reinforce directions & techniques described by the head & assistant coaches.
  • No experience with track is necessary. Interested parties must be in full compliance with the Diocese of Allentown Protecting God’s Children Program.

  • Team practices are Tuesday & Thursday evenings and begin in March

- Registration is open to all children grades K-8 and will run through the month of February.
- Practices are held at Notre Dame of Green Pond on Tuesdays (6:30 to 8:00 PM) & Thursdays in March (5:30 to 6:45 PM)
- Practice will start in March
- Meets are held on Saturdays at Norte Dame of Green Pond (there are 4 Meets plus a Diocese meet at the end of the season)
- The Meets start in April and finish in early May
- The registration fee per child is $40.00 and includes all entry fees for the Meets and a new team shirt.
 
Track & Field activities.
****Running events - 50, 100, 400, 800, 1,600 meters and 800 meter relay
      Miscellaneous events - shot put, youth javelin, high jump and running long jump

The Notre Dame of Bethlehem CYO is established to promote and sponsor athletic and cultural activities for students of the parish and school. The CYO stresses a Christian outlook on teamwork, good sportsmanship and athletic and cultural development. In doing so, each participant will be encouraged to meet their full potential in athletic, cultural and academic areas. This organization also raises revenues to support the various athletic and cultural activities it sponsors.

The CYO Board Meetings are held on the second Monday of the month at 6:30 pm in the Parish Center.

CYO Athletic and Cultural Activities

All participants must be members of the parish/school and must pay the CYO sport registration fee. Students who do not attend Notre Dame of Bethlehem School must be enrolled in religious education classes up through and including 8th grade.

CYO athletic activities include: Cross Country, Track & Field, Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, Co-ed Volleyball

Cultural activities include: Band, Chime Choir, Choir, Academic Bowl, Bishop Welsh Religion Award, Reading Olympics, Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest, Talent Show, Spelling Bee and One Act Play.

Students accumulate points each time they participate in a CYO activity and receive a participation award at the Annual CYO Banquet. In addition, each sport awards an MVP and an Achievement award at the banquet.
